Personal assistants are seeing increased adoption in all demographics. According to the 2017 Accenture Digital Consumer Survey, 46 percent of U.S. consumers are using voice-enabled digital assistants, and 70 percent of people aged 18-34 are either already using or are interested in using a voice assistant. However, consumers can get frustrated with a voice only interface that provides no visual responses or cues.
We believe that digital assistants should be able to not only speak answers to you, but should have a display to show better information and more intuitive instructions to make the experience easier and more satisfying. Interaction shouldn’t just be limited to voice, but should still be controllable from across the room – which is why we’ve built a completely new interface with gesture recognition that allows for controlling the display with your hands from a distance.
We’ve built these features into our display in a way that feels seamless and unobtrusive by defaulting to an aesthetically pleasing mirror or picture frame when it’s not being used.
What is the Daptly Display?
We are announcing the launch of our first product, the Daptly Display. It’s a smart, gesture and voice controlled display that manages your life and seamlessly blends beauty and technology into your home or office.
• Personal Dashboard
Our display recognizes who’s in front of it and only displays information that they care about. So in the morning it can show you news and traffic updates and the kids can walk by to see their chores for the week. See all of our applications on our product page (daptly.com/pages/product).
• Control Your Home
Control all of your smart devices in one place. Create routines that automatically control devices like your lights and thermostat depending on time of day, people at home, and the weather outside. We integrate with IFTTT so you can do more with the services you already use.
• Intuitive Interaction
When your hands are full it’s easier to just wave your hand to see more content or issue a command. That’s why we’ve built voice recognition alongside a gesture interface and a large display. See what commands are available, swipe to interact, and enjoy an assistant that understands what you want.
• Better With Alexa
The Daptly Display comes equipped with a fully functional Amazon Alexa inside. Sign in to your Amazon account and ask Alexa to play music, hear the news, check weather, control your smart home, and more.
• One Platform, Two Options
Both our options include our native applications, gesture and voice recognition, and Amazon Alexa integration.
• The Picture Frame
A beautiful art display. You can upload images straight from your mobile device or search from our collection of over 50,000 images from collections like Metropolitan Museum, the National Gallery of Art, and the Rijksmuseum.
• The Mirror
Features a fog-resistant mirror in front of your display. It’s a perfect blend of technology when you need it and regularity when it’s off.
